About Hoang

Hi there, my name is Hoang. I’ve been playing drums since the age of 15 and I played for a lot of indie bands in lots of different settings and venues back in Vietnam, my home country. In August 2022, I decided to move to Canada to pursue my education in music and I got accepted to Selkirk College (Nelson, BC) in their Music and Technology Program with an entrance scholarship. I was so honored since I got to study with one of the best drummers in Canada – Mr. Joel Fountain, I learned a lot from him and can’t wait to pass on the knowledge and passion for all my students to pick up the drumsticks and jam.

During the time in BC, I took the time to hone my skills not only as a drummer but also a musician by participating in school year-end showcases, ensembles and performing to a wide range of audiences. My playing varies from a lot of genres and influences such as pop, rock, alternative, modern hip-hop, drums and bass and electronic music. In my free time, I like to watch movies and eat ice cream.
